Our team of registered and experienced nurses are a vital part of the veterinary team. On a daily basis they carry out a variety of roles ranging from Inpatient care, anaesthetists, lab technicians, reception duties and much much more.
Our nurses continue to develop their skills and knowledge on a regular basis with in house training and continued professional development externally keeping up to date with new information and procedures.

Our team of nurses have a wealth of knowledge and offer a range of nurse clinics.

Post operative checks

General health check following a surgical procedure, including wound care and management. Dressing and bandage changes.

Dietary advice and weight management

Dietary advice for all ages and specific conditions. Weight clinic available to help patients who need to shed those extra pounds and maintain a healthy weight.

Diabetic support

Help and advice looking after the diabetic patient within the home environment with regular nurse contact and support.

Monitoring of specific conditions

Routine monitoring of patients with specific conditions including weight check, blood sample and blood pressure check.

Dental clinic

Post operative checks after dental including preventative care and oral examination. Checking for any problems and advising best care options.

Senior wellness clinic

Help and advice taking care of the elderly patient including general health check, tips on how we can help the elderly patient within the home environment.

Puppy and Kitten checks

Offering regular health and weight checks, preventative flea and worm treatments with lots of treats and fun making it a positive experience.

Pre operative neuter checks

Advice on whether to neuter or not and the best time for the procedure
to take place depending on the individual breed and circumstance.

Nurse services

A range of nurse services are also available including:

  • Microchipping
  • Administration of medications
  • Anal gland expression.

Puppy Party

We also offer a Puppy Party so you will learn how to play games with your puppy, how to read canine body language, how to successfully socialise your puppy and you will also receive information about preventative health care.

Sessions are free of charge and open to all puppies registered with Wern Vets and have received their full course of vaccinations.
